With everyone obsessed with food, exercise, work and income, it’s stunning to see the effects of loneliness on mental and physical health. Though the problem appears to be more acute in men – something I’ve dealt with myself on and off throughout my lift – there are definitely lessons for everyone. Particularly the relatively recent notion that your spouse should fill many of the roles that traditionally would have gone to friends and community.
